In this series of micro-blogs our founder, Fiona Thomas, reflects on the blessings in her life.
Inspiration’s a strange thing isn’t it?
It reminds me a bit of my dear old cat. If I focused on him he’d ignore me completely. But if I did something else, every now and then, he’d come along and sit on my lap. I’ve found living in Devon has been wonderful for nurturing the precious moments of clarity where ideas come. So, as I take time out to count my blessings, it’s obvious to me that living in the wonderful county of Devon must be one of them.
Life’s Little Recipes is based in South Molton, a beautiful part of this scenic county. I’m so lucky that from here I can quickly travel to both the coast and the Exmoor National Park.
For me, after a long day, walking along the coast feels a bit like finally putting down heavy bags of shopping that you’ve been carrying for too long. There’s a huge sense of relief that comes with losing your mental burden and meditating on the timeless and emotional nature of the sea.
If I’m honest, it’s the Devon woods that have inspired me most with Life’s Little Recipes. If I need to get my thoughts straight I head for anywhere with trees. It was under the canopy of my local woods that I first met Unimole. Whenever I’m trying to get my thoughts together about the business or come up with the latest Unimole story, I head back to the woods and (nine times out of ten) I leave feeling totally inspired, having met another of Unimole’s friends!
Wherever you are in the world I’d love you to discover the blessings of Devon, the home of Unimole, LLR and so much more. I hope this wonderful county inspires you as much as it does me!
Take care x
Fiona
